Known for his youthful style, photographer and director Brett Lloyd lives and works in London.
His photographs play with light, sensitively recording its interaction with the human body, to create a compelling narrative.

PERSONAL WORK
Â
Brett Lloyd initially gained attention for his intimate documentation of urban youth subcultures.
In an early series, "The quieter poster boys" , he photographed guys he met whilst travelling in Europe, accompanying text with the images, describing his encounters.

Brett’s work is punctuated by recognisable faces. Often bony, always beautiful, his ever-rotating roster of limber-limbed, perma-young boys and girls defines his images as much as his often stark (but never cold) aesthetic.

The 'Seldom Seen' project is a visual conversation between Brett LLoyd and photographer Felix Werbowy. “Because I come from fashion photography I was drawn to creating narrative, an emotion without necessarily using humans, face etc...“

Brett's first book 'Scugnizzi ' was published by Dashwood books in 2014. Scugnizzi is a term used to describe the local kids who in the summer overrun the town beaches of Naples. The book features vignettes of daily drama on the beach that seem to channel neorealist Italian cinema of the 1940's.
